Ontario Science Center's YouTube Flix

Ontario Science Center posts videos on You Tube

by Sonja Hyde-Moyer last modified 2006-11-30 14:01

When I found out that the Ontario Science Center was creating videos and posting them on You Tube I thought "These are the smartest guys and gals in Science Museums". Kudos.

They do it right: not worrying too much about production values, just focusing on the coolness factor, they produce and post exactly the type of videos that would do well on YouTube.

All I can say, is Rock On.

Exploratorium posts Stem Cell Video to youTube

The Exploratorium's Microscope Imaging Station just posted Stem Cell footage to youTube. It's extremely timely with the US House passing a Stem Cell bill. I just did a Flickr search for stem cells and among the first few images were anti-abortion propaganda. It would be great if the Imaging Station could post a few Stem Cell images to Flickr as well. Science Centers posting content to youTube and Flickr is a quick, low-cost, opportunistic strategy for public education, esp when current events bring a heightened awareness of specific topics, like Stem Cell Research.
