Flashcard Exchange enables users to create, study, and  share flashcards. The Site offers free accounts and full membership ($19.95 for a lifetime membership), which also allow you to add images to flashcards, print them, and export them in a variety of formats.

With the free account, you can create an unlimited number of flashcards, study them online, and make them publicly available on the site for others to use.

The creation tool starts with a simple form for creating a flashcard set, with Title, Description and Tags. It then proceeds through a number of steps, prompting you to choose the number of cards to create at a time, and whether you would like to add hints to the cards. The creation form for the cards themselves is a simple 3 column form: Number, Question, Answer. You can also import cards from a 3 column (Question, Answer, and Hint) Excel File.

Studying cards online is simple. The question side of the card is presented with a panel of controls (including corresponding key commands) for flipping the card, navigating through the cards, viewing a hint, editing the card, marking your answer as incorrect, and seeing the results of the study session. A timer keeps track of how long you spend going through the cards. In addition to this traditional method of flipping through the cards, you can also play a Memory game with them, in which you attempt to match question and answer pairs.

Account holders can set up profile pages, and mark sets as favorites.

The site currently holds 8,783,610 flashcards in a wide variety of subjects, organized into categories and tagged. Top level categories include Early Education, Elementary School, High School, Higher Education, Science, Medicine, Trades and Occupations, Information Technology, Languages, and Miscellaneous
