The David Rumsey Historical Map Collection contains over 15,800 maps. The collection focuses on rare 18th and 19th century North and South America maps and other cartographic materials. The site offers several browsing applications that allow you to view the collection of high resolution maps.

The David Rumsey Map Collection is a unique map reference and cartographic tool site which offers several browsing applications that allow you to view the collection of high resolution historic maps.  A Featured Content Layer in Google Earth overlays many historic maps geospatially.  New maps are released regularly as the digital collection expands.  Additional maps for the Google Earth content layer are planned.

Most of the collection content is available via Creative Commons license.
