Concept to Classroom
Concept to Classroom is a set of free online workshops for educators. While aimed primarily at Classroom teachers, the theory, concepts, and strategies are relevant to educational web development.
Concept to Classroom provides free, self-guided, online workshops for educators. Workshops that are particularly relevant to WDIL include the following: Constructivism as a Paradigm for Teaching and Learning, Cooperative and Collaborative Learning, Inquiry-based Learning, Tapping into Multiple Intelligences. Each workshop is divided into 4 sections: Explanation, Demonstration, Exploration, and Implementation. The Explanation section explains the theory behind the workshop topic (e.g. constructivism, collaborative learning, multiple intelligences, etc.), and is useful for getting solid overviews of educational theory. The Demonstration section provides video demonstrations of the theory being applied in a variety of formal learning contexts. The Exploration section offers practical guides and tips for applying the theory in your own teaching. Finally, the Implementation section provides frameworks for developing lesson plans that implement the principles underlying the educational theories.
The Site also offers biographies of the expert content developers behind the workshops.
