Problogger is a blog for professional bloggers written by Darren Rouse. Because the focus of the blog is on making money from blogging, and making money depends on how many readers your blog has, it takes building audience very seriously. The following tips are compiled from responses to a question he asked of his readers: 'How do you find Readers for You Blog?

1) Comment on Related Blogs

By writing thoughtful comments on other peoples' blogs you can create interest in your writing, and readers will often click through to check out your blog

2) Join Forums

Join Forums related to your topic and be helpful by sharing your experitse

3)Write Effective Post Titles
Short  and relevant

4) Interviews
Interview other bloggers. This will bring their traffic to you and yours to them

5) Persist
Building audience takes time and persistent effort

6) Connect with Local Bloggers
Find out who else in you local area blogs and meet up with them face to face.

7) Give Away Free Stuff
Giving away Wordpress Templates can create new links to you and thus increase your page ranking

8) Be Opinionated
It makes you more interesting, as long as you remain open, and even encourage other viewpoints

9)Ask questions of Other Bloggers
Aim for moderately successful ones, because the really successful one wont have the time

10) Use Trackbacks
Trackbacks enable readers to follow a discussion from blog to blog and facilitates increased traffic for everyone

11) Advertise

create a page on the seat to describe what feeds are and how to use them

Talk to friends and family about them. Create business cards or flyers and leave them on bulletin boards

This increases comments and links from other blogs

Blog Carnivals are a type of blog event in which a host blogger solicits articles from readers and then posts an edited roundup of the submissions.

Create memorable short names for things on your blog, or create a periodic series of posts with a catchy name: ie "The Thursday Thirty".

The more posts, the more pages and more chances for new readers to find you

This brings their audience and is an opportunity to create links between blogs

Make contact with other bloggers in your niche

21) Newsletters
Their a reminder that you exist and a chance to highlight new content

22) Social Networks
Submit your story to Digg and Reddit. Comment frequently

23) Pitch Your Posts
Use traditional PR methods. Contact other bloggers and pitch them your story. Be very selective and only target people who you think will find it useful
